Lieutenant General Asim Munir was appointed as Pakistan’s new Army chief.

By India Today Web Desk: Lieutenant General Asim Munir was chosen as Pakistan’s new Army chief on Thursday. Munir had served in Pakistan’s intelligence company, the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).

He will succeed General Qamar Javed Bajwa, whose time period is scheduled to finish on November 29. Bajwa’s retirement comes after a three-year extension. He had dominated out searching for one other extension.

Meanwhile, Lieutenant General Sahir Shamshad Mirza was picked because the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC).
