More than 25 children fell ill after a lizard was found in the mid-day meal served at Pipalkhunta School in Mainpur on September 4, out of which the condition of two is said to be critical. Seeing the seriousness of the matter, the district administration has taken strict action and the Jai Durga group, which prepares the mid-day meal for the school, has now been removed from the food operation and instructions have been issued to register an FIR against all its members. Apart from this, the school’s head teacher Santosh Jagat has been suspended.
DEO Anand Saraswat confirmed the matter and said that the process of tasting the food and the registration system was found to be lacking. Due to this, the head teacher of the primary school Santosh Jagat has been suspended. A proposal has been sent to the Assistant Director for the suspension of the head teacher of the middle school Labano Kharsail.

It is worth noting that after this incident came to light, Collector Deepak Agarwal immediately issued an inquiry order. This is the first case of negligence in MDM operation in the district, where the administration has taken strict action.
