In the capital, the Lokayukta police raided the residence of retired superintending engineer of the municipal corporation Pradeep Kumar Jain in Lord Colony on Airport Road on Friday morning. The Lokayukta police had received a complaint against him for accumulating assets disproportionate to his income, on the basis of which this action has been taken. The Lokayukta has registered a case against him under the Anti-Corruption Act.
During the raid, Jain’s cash worth more than one lakh rupees and gold and silver jewellery were recovered. Apart from this, land and property papers were found at more than ten places in Bhopal, which are being investigated. He has recently returned from a trip to Canada.
