Following the collapse of the Lutti dam in Balrampur-Ramanujganj district, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has voiced his severe dissatisfaction. He has issued a clear warning, vowing zero tolerance for any recurrence of such incidents. Shri Sai emphasized that the lack of regular field inspections by officials and staff contributed to the dam’s failure. He directed all officials and staff to ensure consistent on-site inspections of dams and related infrastructure.
At a review meeting of the Water Resources Department at the Mahanadi Bhawan, the Chief Minister gave directions concerning the upkeep and repair of irrigation projects, the water storage capabilities of dams, the current irrigation status, and future projects. He specifically stressed strict compliance with the Dam Safety Act 2021 and the importance of effective coordination with the district administration.
