The Madhya Pradesh government has announced the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga, Har Ghar Swachhta: Swatantrata Ka Utsav, Swachhta Ke Sang’ campaign, aimed at celebrating independence alongside cleanliness. The initiative, to be executed in three stages, seeks to inspire every citizen to display the national flag at their homes. It intends to promote patriotism and respect for the tricolor while also highlighting the importance of cleanliness and water conservation. This campaign supports Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Mission.

The government is committed to making this a mass movement, encouraging broad public participation. The campaign will be conducted from August 2 to August 15, 2025, with activities planned across three phases.

The first phase (August 2-8) will focus on generating a patriotic environment through public events and discussions related to the tricolor. Schools, colleges, and public spaces will be adorned with tricolor-inspired art and rangoli. Quizzes on the flag’s history, workshops for creating tricolor rakhis, and letter-writing contests will be organized. Public displays of woven art featuring tricolor colors will also be included.

The second phase (August 9-12) will feature a Tiranga Mahotsav with large-scale events. Community-level awareness programs, Tiranga Yatras, and cultural activities will be organized. This phase will focus on community engagement, extensive promotion, flag availability, and ensuring the tricolor’s visibility in public areas. Events such as a Tiranga Mela, featuring local products, Tiranga concerts, bike/cycle rallies, Tiranga Yatras with strong public participation, the sale and proper arrangement of Tiranga flags, human chain formations, and Tiranga anthems will be organized.

The third phase (August 13-15) will involve the display of the tricolor on homes, offices, and vehicles, selfie uploads, the universal visibility of the tricolor, and continuous communication with the Ministry of Culture. Flag-related programs will be conducted. The tricolor will be displayed on all government buildings, educational institutions, offices, and public spaces.

The Madhya Pradesh government has made extensive preparations to guarantee the success of the campaign. The Culture Department has given detailed instructions to all district collectors. This campaign is a collaborative effort of the Central Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, the Ministry of Jal Shakti, and the Ministry of Culture, built on the concept of a collective celebration and civic unity, integrating the spirit of independence with a commitment to cleanliness and water sustainability. This initiative will strengthen the Prime Minister’s vision by ensuring safe water, promoting effective water and sanitation practices, and improving sanitation in rural areas. The campaign will emphasize activities related to cleanliness and water conservation.

Various activities will be carried out in villages and Gram Panchayats under the Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM-G) and the Jal-Jeevan Mission (JJM). These include Swachh Sujal Gaon pledges, community cleaning drives, asset cleaning, awareness activities, and water conservation efforts. Flag hoisting ceremonies will be held on August 15, 2025, at major WASH infrastructure sites like Amrit Sarovar and public places. These events represent the freedom, dignity, and well-being achieved through access to safe water and sanitation.

Active participation from districts, blocks, and Gram Panchayats will be secured in the campaign. Local institutions, Gram Jal Seva Samitis, Self-Help Groups, Panchayati Raj institutions, volunteers, and frontline workers will be encouraged to lead and participate. Panchayats, Self-Help Groups, school students, Gram Jal Samitis, and frontline workers will be involved. The General Administration Department has given instructions to all Divisional Commissioners, Collectors, and related departments to ensure the successful execution of the campaign.

The campaign’s scope extends beyond flag hoisting, encompassing patriotism, cleanliness, and environmental protection. It will be celebrated in both rural and urban areas of Madhya Pradesh, with the active involvement of school children, youth, and all segments of the community. Tricolor rakhi making and rangoli competitions will boost creativity and patriotism among children and youth.

The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga, Har Ghar Swachhta’ campaign will enhance the celebration of independence in Madhya Pradesh. It will not only elevate respect for the national flag but also contribute to achieving vital social objectives such as cleanliness and water conservation. The residents of Madhya Pradesh are urged to participate with enthusiasm and hoist the tricolor at their homes, thereby reinforcing the spirit of patriotism.
