    Highlights

    Congress leaders and workers gathered near Jawahar Bhawan at Roshanpura Chowk. From here, Congress protesters proceeded to surround the CM’s residence. Police stopped the Congress workers from proceeding further by erecting barricades near Raj Bhavan.

    State Bureau, Naiduniya, Bhopal. The main opposition party in the state, Congress, is continuously protesting on the streets on various issues. After the issue of nursing college scam cooled down, Congress is now trying to corner the BJP government on other issues. In this connection, Congress has now accused the Dalit and tribal society of injustice, discrimination and exploitation.

    The Scheduled Caste Department of Congress has demonstrated at Roshanpura crossing today. A large number of workers including Congress State President Jeetu Patwari, former MLA and Minister PC Sharma, State President of Scheduled Caste Department Pradeep Ahirwar and District President of Congress Praveen Saxena were present in the demonstration. From here, the Congress protesters proceeded to surround the Chief Minister’s residence in the form of a rally.

    On the way, the police barricaded the road near the Raj Bhavan and stopped the Congress protesters from moving ahead. During this, some Congress leaders also had an argument with the policemen. The police asked the Congressmen to end the protest, but the protesters remained adamant on their stand. On this, the police used water cannon to disperse the protesters.

    Earlier, the organization’s vice president Mukesh Bansal said that atrocities on the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes are increasing under the BJP government in the state. Only a pretense is being made in the name of action. Neither employment is being arranged nor any steps are being taken for security. A protest is being held in Bhopal on Tuesday to protest against this.
