Authorities have closed a government madrassa in the Katihar district of Bihar for a week due to a growing snake problem. The Islamia Madrassa in the Barsoi block has been the site of numerous snake sightings, with over a dozen venomous snakes appearing in just two days. The head teacher said that the snakes are ‘gehunvan’, and pose a serious threat. Local education officials have confirmed the closure, citing the need to ensure the safety of the students and staff. Parents have also requested urgent repairs to the madrassa building to prevent further snake infestations.
