    The priests of the temple had raised objections to wearing indecent clothes. All the devotees were stopped and their clothes were removed immediately. In this case, some devotees also apologized for their clothes.

There was a ruckus in Ujjain’s Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga temple on Friday morning when the security guards present there stopped the devotees wearing shorts with Mahakal written on them. The number of such devotees was not one or two but 12. Everyone was immediately given towels and their shorts were removed and other clothes were given to wear. After this, all the devotees were also instructed not to wear such clothes.

    According to the information, in the month of Sawan, a large number of devotees including Kanwar pilgrims are visiting the Mahakal temple wearing saffron clothes. On Friday morning, the security guard noticed some devotees who were wearing shorts with Mahakal written on them.

    On this, the security guards immediately stopped them. After this, strict checking started and 12 devotees were found wearing such clothes. All of them were asked to remove these clothes and were immediately given other clothes. After this, all of them were also told that this hurts sentiments. Go to the temple wearing such clothes. Some devotees also apologized for this.

    Priests have protested regarding clothes

    Priests have been demanding to implement a dress code in Mahakal temple. Earlier also devotees have been entering the temple wearing clothes of their choice. Youths reach the temple to have darshan even in Bermuda, night suits and shorts. Devotees have been asked to come to the temple wearing decent clothes.

    Do not wear clothes with God’s name written on them

    Priests say that devotees should not wear clothes with God’s name written on them. On the other hand, there are many shops in Ujjain city where dogs and clothes with Mahakal written on them and Tripund on them are being sold.
