In a deeply concerning incident, a man from Maharashtra was forced to travel 90 kilometers by bus, carrying his newborn’s body in a carry bag, after being denied an ambulance. This tragic event occurred at Nashik Civil Hospital.

Sakharam Kavar, the grieving father, blamed the healthcare system for his daughter’s death, citing negligence. His wife went into labor on June 11 at Khodala PHC. When he attempted to obtain an ambulance, contacted local health workers, and called emergency services, he received no response. Subsequently, he secured private transportation to Khodala Public Health Centre.

After waiting an hour at the PHC, his wife was referred to Mokhada Civil Hospital. At Mokhada, doctors recommended transferring her to Nashik Civil Hospital after being unable to detect the fetal heartbeat. An ambulance from Aase village eventually transported her, but the baby was stillborn on June 12.

Concurrently, a 25-year-old man in Madhya Pradesh took his own life by setting himself on fire, following alleged troubles with his partner. Ajay Kushwaha, was said to have been troubled by financial disagreements and self-immolated outside the woman’s residence on June 13.
