Mahasamund district gets first place for excellent work under Jal Sanchay, Jan Bhagidari campaign

Raipur, November 18, 2025/ Mahasamund district has secured the first position under Category 2 included in the Eastern Zone for excellent work under the Jal Sanchay and Jan Bhagidari campaign. President Smt. Draupadi Murmu honored the district with an amount of one crore rupees for its excellent work. Mahasamund Collector Shri Vinay Kumar Langeh received this award. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai extended congratulations and best wishes for this achievement of Mahasamund district.
It is noteworthy that Mahasamund district has been honored with the first position as the best performing district under Category 2 included in the Eastern Zone under Jal Sanchay, Jan Bhagidari (JSJB 1.0). At the 6th National Water Awards and Jal Sanchay, Jan Bhagidari Award ceremony held today at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi, President Smt. Draupadi Murmu presented the award to Mahasamund district for its notable work in water conservation and public participation. The district received an incentive amount of one crore rupees for this. Union Minister for Water Resources Shri CR Patil, Union Minister of State for Water Resources Shri V. Somanna, and other dignitaries along with senior officials were present on this occasion. On behalf of the district, along with Collector Shri Vinay Kumar Langeh, Chief Executive Engineer of the Water Resources Department, Shri Ajay Khare, was also present. It is noteworthy that this achievement was for the construction of a total of 35,182 water structures in the district.
Collector Shri Vinay Kumar Langeh expressed happiness over this significant achievement of the district and attributed this important accomplishment to all the residents of Mahasamund district. Collector Shri Vinay Kumar Langeh said that due to the tireless efforts and active participation of all the officers and employees of the district administration, respected public representatives, distinguished citizens, and all the residents of the district, this significant achievement has been possible in the water conservation and public participation campaign. For this, he expressed gratitude to all the officers and employees of the district, as well as all the public representatives, distinguished citizens, and all the residents of the district. Shri Langeh extended heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all the residents of the district for Mahasamund district receiving the honor of being awarded by the hands of the President of India as the best performing district in the Jal Sanchay and Jan Bhagidari campaign.
