Mahindra’s Price Cuts: SUVs Like Thar and XUV700 Get Cheaper After GST Reforms

Following the recent GST reforms, Mahindra & Mahindra is offering price reductions on its SUV models. The price cuts extend to vehicles like the Bolero/Neo, XUV 3XO, Thar, Scorpio Classic, Scorpio-N, Thar Roxx, and XUV700, with potential savings up to Rs 2.56 lakh. The latest price cuts provide additional savings up to Rs 1.29 lakh. These price adjustments apply exclusively to the company’s internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles, and are not applicable to its electric vehicle lineup. This marks the second round of price cuts within a month, the initial one, announced on September 6th, lowered prices by up to Rs 1.56 lakh for a range of passenger vehicles. The GST reforms have led to modifications in the taxation of vehicles, including a reduced rate for smaller cars and adjustments for larger SUVs. The GST rate on agricultural machinery has also been lowered, and a uniform GST of 18% has been established for auto parts.
