Employment Opportunities for Youth Alongside Healthcare Services: Naya Raipur to Become Healthcare Hub of Central India – Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai

Raipur, January 22, 2026 / A significant achievement has been recorded in the direction of developing Naya Raipur as a major healthcare hub of the country. In the presence of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, a lease agreement for 15 acres of land was signed at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhavan in Naya Raipur between the prestigious Bombay Hospital and Medical Research Centre and Naya Raipur Development Authority. This agreement will give new momentum to the development of the proposed Medicity in Naya Raipur.

This project will not only strengthen the state’s healthcare infrastructure but will also be an example of Chhattisgarh’s swift and reliable administrative system in the field of investment. After the investment invitation was issued by the state government on September 24, 2025, the process of land identification, necessary approvals, and registration was completed within just four months, which is a new benchmark in itself.

On the 15 acres of land allocated by the Naya Raipur Development Authority, the Bombay Hospital Trust will establish a state-of-the-art 300-bed multi-super specialty hospital at a cost of approximately ₹680 crore. This hospital will be the Trust’s fourth super specialty hospital in the country. Prior to this, the Trust’s super specialty hospitals have been successfully operating in Mumbai, Indore, and Jaipur.

Through Bombay Hospital, advanced medical services including Cardiac Sciences, Cancer Treatment, Neurology, Orthopedics, Critical Care, Organ Transplant will be available. With its commencement, patients from Chhattisgarh and surrounding states will not have to migrate to metropolitan cities like Mumbai or Delhi for the treatment of serious illnesses.

This project is expected to create over 500 direct employment opportunities, including doctors, surgeons, nurses, paramedical staff, and medical technicians. Along with this, large-scale indirect employment will also be generated in the healthcare supply chain, services, and allied sectors, which will provide a significant boost to the local economy.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said that the establishment of Bombay Hospital is a decisive step towards realizing the dream of Medicity in Naya Raipur. He said that this will provide world-class super specialty healthcare services to the citizens of the state within their own state and will provide quality employment opportunities to the youth.

The Chief Minister also stated that the Chhattisgarh government is committed to the continuous expansion of basic facilities in the health sector. The investment by a prestigious institution like Bombay Hospital in Naya Raipur is a testament to the state’s policy stability, swift decision-making capability, and confidence in its investor-friendly environment.

This project is a direct result of the special incentives and time-bound implementation being given to strategic sectors like health under the Chhattisgarh Industrial Development Policy 2024-30. This will help establish Naya Raipur as a major healthcare destination in Central India.

On this occasion, Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Subodh Singh, Secretary, Industry Department Shri Rajat Kumar, Secretary, Housing and Environment Department Shri Ankit Anand, CEO, Naya Raipur Development Authority Shri Chandan Kumar, Trustee and Chairman, Bombay Hospital Trust Shri Bharat Tapadia, Secretary Shri Shyam Ji, and other senior officials from the Trust and the government were present.
