Thursday marked a significant day in Noida as traffic police rolled out an extensive Road Safety Month 2026 campaign across Gautam Buddh Nagar. Guided by top brass, the initiative targeted both enforcement and enlightenment at busy intersections.

Crowds gathered for engaging street theater at prime spots including Sector-52 Metro path, Model Town rotary, and Chijarsi crossing. Performers drove home critical messages on adhering to traffic norms for personal and public safety.

Support materials like rule pamphlets and certified helmets were shared with riders. A collective oath-taking ceremony committed attendees to safer roads.

Parallel to awareness, action was swift: 3,293 on-spot fines, 4,106 camera-based e-challans, totaling 7,399. Serious offenders saw 16 vehicles seized.

Violation categories exposed persistent problems—no helmets topped with 2,432, followed by parking infringements (810), overspeed (392), reverse driving (781), number plate issues (131), and pollution lapses (393).

Targeted outreach to auto and e-rickshaw drivers highlighted signal obedience and precautions. Police called for universal use of protective gear and cautious speeds, positioning this campaign as a pivotal step toward accident-free highways.
