A serious event unfolded in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, where a patient lost his life after falling from the third floor of RDJM Hospital in the Turki police station area. The deceased has been identified as Harendra Ram, a resident of Bariyarpur in the Sakra block. The family of the deceased has accused the hospital management of negligence following the incident.

According to reports, Harendra Ram was receiving treatment in the mental health ward of RDJM Hospital. On Sunday morning, he went to use the restroom and did not return. A search was conducted by his family members and hospital staff. They initially searched within the hospital premises, but their attention turned to the area below the third floor after they failed to locate him. They found a body on a garbage heap and later identified it as Harendra Ram.

One concerning aspect of the event was the delayed response of the hospital management to the fall and subsequent death of the patient. The body remained on the garbage heap behind the hospital for some time. During this period, the family members and other individuals were expressing their concern, which prompted the hospital administration to take action. The police were notified, arrived at the scene, and took the body into custody, sending it to SKMCH for a post-mortem examination.

The deceased’s family members have stated that there was a lack of proper monitoring at the hospital. They have emphasized that, given the patient was in the mental ward, he required special care and supervision. The family alleges that the accident occurred due to negligence. The family is deeply saddened by the event.

Turki Police Station Officer Rahul Kumar stated that the police are currently investigating the case. No formal complaint has been filed by the family yet, and further action will be taken once a complaint is received. The family believes that the incident raises questions about the hospital administration’s functioning and the level of care provided. They stress the importance of continuous monitoring of patients in the mental ward to prevent them from harming themselves or others. The incident highlights a significant lack of security and monitoring. Local residents and the family are calling for a thorough investigation by the authorities. The police are actively involved in the ongoing investigation.
