Maruti Suzuki has begun exporting the e-Vitara, with an initial shipment exceeding 2,900 units. The vehicles were sent from the Pipavav port in Gujarat to 12 European countries, including the UK and Germany. The manufacturing of the e-Vitara takes place at Maruti Suzuki’s Hansalpur plant. The company plans to export the model to over 100 countries, in addition to its availability in the Indian market. August saw a 40% surge in Maruti Suzuki’s total exports, reaching 36,538 units, a significant increase from the 26,003 units recorded in the previous year. The move to export e-Vitara is a strategic entry into the competitive electric vehicle market. The e-Vitara will compete with the Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV, Tata Curve EV, and Mahindra BE 6 in the Indian market. The estimated starting price is around 20 lakh rupees.
