Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to launch the Victoris SUV on September 3, 2025. The vehicle, known internally as Y17, had its name leaked before the official announcement. The leak appeared briefly on Maruti Suzuki’s official website. The company aims to attract middle-class consumers with an affordable price for the Victoris.

    Maruti Victoris SUV Details

The Victoris will be sold through Maruti Arena dealerships. It will be positioned between the Brezza and Grand Vitara in the SUV lineup. The SUV is built on the Suzuki Global-C platform, also used for the Grand Vitara. This platform sharing will likely help reduce production costs, and the Victoris will include many features found in the Grand Vitara and Toyota Hyryder.

    Competitive Landscape

The Victoris is expected to be slightly longer than the Grand Vitara, which is 4,345 mm. This will position it against the Hyundai Creta (4,330 mm) and Kia Seltos (4,365 mm). It will also face competition from upcoming facelifts like the 2026 Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, and Volkswagen Taigun. To succeed, the Victoris must offer a compelling combination of space, features, and competitive pricing, with the longer body potentially providing extra boot space.

    Engine Specifications

The Victoris will share engine options with the Grand Vitara and Toyota Hyryder, including a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 103 PS and 139 Nm of torque. This engine will be available with a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission, and the Suzuki All Grip All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system will also be available. Additionally, a 1.5-liter strong hybrid powertrain with an output of 115.5 PS and an e-CVT gearbox will be offered. The Victoris will also be available in a CNG variant, which will produce 88 PS in CNG mode, to cater to a wider audience.
