The Maruti Suzuki Victoris, a new entrant in the compact SUV market, is designed to challenge established models such as the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. These SUVs are renowned for their engine options, feature-rich interiors, and robust safety measures. The Victoris enters the arena with its own set of compelling features.

This comparison highlights the key differences between the Victoris and the Seltos, focusing on price, specifications, and safety.

    **Pricing Overview**
The Maruti Suzuki Victoris generally offers a more competitive price point than the Seltos across its different variants. The base model of the Victoris is approximately ₹70,000 less expensive compared to the Seltos’s base model. This cost advantage continues in the mid-range variants. While the pricing gap narrows in the higher-end trims, the Victoris’s strong hybrid variant is priced around ₹20 lakh, whereas the Seltos’s GTX+ and X-Line versions are positioned slightly above ₹20.5 lakh. In this premium market segment, buyers frequently prioritize design and premium features, where the Seltos holds a competitive edge.

    **Technical Details**
Both SUVs offer a selection of three engine options to consumers. The Victoris includes a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine, a factory-installed CNG option, and a strong hybrid engine, paired with the AllGrip Select AWD system. The Seltos, conversely, features a more powerful 1.5-liter petrol engine. The Seltos does not offer CNG or hybrid variants, but includes a 1.5-liter turbo-petrol and a 1.5-liter diesel engine. The Victoris distinguishes itself through its CNG and hybrid AWD technologies, while the Seltos focuses on providing powerful petrol and diesel engine choices.

    **Feature Set**
Both the Victoris and Seltos are equipped with a 10.25-inch display, panoramic sunroofs in their top-tier variants, and connected-car features. The Victoris offers a gesture-powered tailgate, 64-color ambient lighting, an Infinity Dolby Atmos 8-speaker system, and over-the-air updates facilitated by Suzuki Connect.

The Seltos provides a dual-screen layout, dual-zone climate control, ventilated seats, and GT/X-Line cosmetic packages. In general, both SUVs are well-equipped with features. However, the Victoris prioritizes connectivity and cabin ambiance, while the Seltos emphasizes a sportier and more premium interior design.

    **Safety Analysis**
The Victoris has been awarded a 5-star safety rating by Bharat NCAP. It includes six airbags, ESC, a 360° camera, HUD, and Level-2 ADAS specifically calibrated for Indian driving conditions.

The Seltos also provides Level-2 ADAS features, though they are available starting from the GTX+ variant. In 2020, the Seltos received a 3-star rating from Global NCAP. This illustrates that the Victoris offers superior safety and a broader range of ADAS functionalities across more of its variants. The Seltos limits its advanced safety features to its higher-end models.
