Marvel’s highly anticipated superhero film, ‘Fantastic Four: First Steps’, has finally premiered worldwide, generating considerable excitement and positive reactions from audiences. This comes as a welcome relief for Marvel Studios after a series of recent underperforming ventures. However, the film’s journey at the Indian box office has encountered some hurdles.

Despite the anticipation surrounding the film, ‘Fantastic Four: First Steps’ faced a lukewarm reception on its opening day in India. This can be attributed to a number of factors, including limited screen availability, strong competition from existing Bollywood releases, and potential audience fatigue with superhero films.

While the film experienced a slight increase in collections on Day 2 and Day 3, Day 4 saw a significant drop. Early estimates for Day 5 suggest that the film’s performance in India might not significantly improve. With a current total box office collection of Rs 23.66 crore, reaching the Rs 50 crore mark seems unlikely based on the current trend. The success of Bollywood film ‘Saiyaara’ has further impacted ‘Fantastic Four’s’ performance in the Indian market.

On the global stage, ‘Fantastic Four: First Steps’ has made a strong debut, achieving an impressive opening weekend gross of $227 million. The film’s performance is on par with the success of ‘Superman’ (2025).

Although ‘Superman’ (2025) continues to lead the global box office with a total gross of $503.6 million, ‘Fantastic Four’ is steadily gaining ground. In comparison to other superhero films released in similar markets, ‘Fantastic Four’s’ international debut exceeded the opening numbers of ‘Captain America: Brave New World’, ‘Superman’, and ‘Thunderbolts’.

The film is also experiencing considerable success in several smaller countries outside Europe and Latin America, including Mexico, the UK, France, Italy, and Spain.

    **About the Film**

‘Fantastic Four: First Steps’ is set in 1960 on Earth-828. The film features a stellar cast, including Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn in the lead roles. Supporting roles are played by Julia Garner, Sarah Niles, Mark Gatiss, Natasha Lyonne, Paul Walter Hauser, and Ralph Ineson.
