JSW’s MG Motor India has seen tremendous success with its electric vehicle, the Windsor EV. July 2025 marked a milestone, with the Windsor EV achieving its highest monthly sales of 4,308 units. This strong performance has pushed the total sales to over 36,000 units since its launch, strengthening the company’s position in the competitive EV market. MG’s EV market share grew to 32% in the second quarter of 2025, up by 4% from the previous quarter. Simultaneously, the Windsor’s average sales saw a 17% increase, and the brand’s overall EV wholesale sales grew by 28%.

The design of the MG Windsor EV stands out from the crowd, setting it apart from other crossovers. It combines elements of hatchbacks, MPVs, and compact SUVs, offering a unique blend. The front showcases LED daytime running lights, projector headlights, and an illuminated MG logo. The side profile boasts flowing lines, large windows, alloy wheels, and blacked-out pillars on certain trims, creating a stylish floating roof effect.

The rear design features connected LED tail lights, a roof spoiler, and a raked rear window, enhancing its aesthetic appeal. Inside, the dark-themed cabin with accent details is complemented by a panoramic glass roof. The MG Windsor EV is priced between ₹10 lakh and ₹13.10 lakh for the top-end Essence Pro variant, while the Windsor EV range’s ex-showroom price ranges from ₹14 lakh to ₹18.10 lakh. The interior is packed with premium features, including ‘Aero Lounge’ seats that recline up to 135 degrees.

A 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system on the center console controls navigation and infotainment functions. MG also provides a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) option with prices starting from ₹9.99 lakh and a per-kilometer fee, lowering the initial financial commitment for buyers. All versions of the MG Windsor EV include a 38 kWh battery pack, which generates a maximum power of 134 bhp and a peak torque of 200 Nm. This setup provides a range of up to 331 kilometers on a single charge. The Pro variant comes with a larger 52.9 kWh battery pack, increasing the range to 449 kilometers on a single charge, while the power output remains the same.

The Windsor’s popularity stems from its affordability and the inclusion of premium features in its segment. Its accessible starting price combined with the BaaS option makes electric vehicle ownership more appealing. The well-designed cabin with reclining seats adds to its allure, and its crossover design is well-suited for families. The vehicle competes with established models like the Tata Nexon EV, Mahindra XUV 400, Hyundai Creta Electric, and Tata Curvv EV.
