The Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy is witnessing a batting masterclass from Ayush Mhatre, the electrifying opener for Mumbai and the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Mhatre has continued his sensational form by registering back-to-back centuries in the tournament. Following his explosive maiden T20 hundred (110 from 53 balls) against Vidarbha, he has now added another three-figure score to his name. Mhatre remained unbeaten on 104 off 59 balls, leading Mumbai to a commanding nine-wicket triumph over Andhra. His aggressive innings, studded with nine sixes and five boundaries, was crucial in chasing down the 160-run target. The 18-year-old, a retained player by CSK, has impressed with his powerful hitting, including 19 sixes in just three matches. Beyond his current T20 heroics, Mhatre has achieved a historic milestone by becoming the youngest Indian to score centuries in all three domestic formats at the age of 18 years and 135 days. His consistent performances have also earned him the captaincy of the India U-19 team for the upcoming Asia Cup.
