    Raipur, Women and Child Development and Social Welfare Minister Smt. Lakshmi Rajwade held a departmental review meeting in the joint district office meeting hall of Balrampur district. In the meeting, she thoroughly reviewed the schemes run by the Women and Child Development and Social Welfare Department and directed the officials to ensure effective implementation and continuous monitoring at the ground level.

    Minister Smt. Rajwade, while emphasizing on the widespread promotion of the Pradhan Mantri Matritva Vandana Yojana, said that eligible beneficiaries should get the benefits of the schemes on time and with transparency. Instructions were given to benefit the needy families under the Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana on priority. Emphasizing on taking serious initiatives towards prevention of child marriage, she said that adolescent girls should be made aware by giving information about the ill-effects of child marriage, so that the goal of making the state free from child marriage can be achieved.

    Regarding the operation of Anganwadi centers in the meeting, Minister Smt. Rajwade said that the centers should open at regular times, special attention should be given to the attendance of children and the quality of nutritious food. She also reviewed the cleanliness of the centers, teaching arrangements and distribution of nutrition gardens and ready-to-eat food. Emphasizing on the eradication of malnutrition, the Minister directed the smooth operation of NRC centers and to provide regular food to malnourished children.

    Minister Smt. Rajwade asked to ensure the quality of the Anganwadi buildings under construction under Pradhan Mantri Janman, complete the work soon, conduct the recruitment process on vacant posts in a transparent manner and regularly monitor the Anganwadi centers.

    Emphasizing on the empowerment of women, Smt. Rajwade reviewed the Saksham Yojana and directed to connect women with self-employment and entrepreneurship. Along with this, she talked about increasing public awareness at the gram panchayat level to prevent domestic violence.

    The progress of departmental programs including Mahtari Vandan Yojana, Childline, Kishore Nyay Board, Bal Kalyan Samiti, Sakhi One Stop Center was reviewed in the meeting. During the review of the Social Welfare Department, the Minister also directed to provide timely benefits to the beneficiaries of pension schemes and to fill the vacant posts in the department soon.

    Director of Social Welfare Department Smt. Roktima Yadav, Balrampur Collector Shri Rajendra Katara, Superintendent of Police Shri Vaibhav Banker Ramanlal, Women and Child Development Department Officer Smt. Vismita Patle, In-charge Deputy Director Social Welfare Department Sushri Stela Khalkho along with senior officers and employees were present in the meeting.
