Lakhimpur Kheri A major corruption case has come to light in the block Kumbhi, where Assistant MNREGA Program Officer (APO MNREGA) Madhur Gupta has been arrested by the Prevention of Corruption Team taking a bribe of Rs 50,000. The incident took place on Saturday, when the team caught the accused red -handed and filed a case against him.

    Action on complaint

Madhur Gupta, posted in the block Kumbhi of Gola Kotwali area, had filed a complaint by Vipin Verma, Principal Representative of Gram Panchayat Chitounia. He alleged that Madhur Gupta had demanded a bribe from him in exchange for working under the MNREGA scheme. After this complaint, the prevention of corruption team immediately started action and on Saturday afternoon, Madhur Gupta was caught taking bribe with cash of Rs 50,000.

    Team did strict action

Pramod Kumar, in -charge of the prevention of corruption team, said that the accused Madhur Gupta has been arrested red handed taking bribe. He also informed that a case has been filed by filing Tahrir in Fardhan police station. However, the work of gathering some evidence is still going on, after which further action will be taken against the accused.

Fear of corruption in MNREGA scheme

The MNREGA scheme, which has been launched to ensure employment in rural areas, is often surrounded by allegations of corruption. In this case too, the accused officer demanded a bribe in exchange for working under the scheme, which is a matter of serious concern. This incident once again proves that instead of spreading the benefits of government schemes to the common people, some officials are engaged in filling their pockets.

    Prevention of corruption team activism

This action of the prevention of corruption team has once again proved that strict steps are being taken against corruption. Pramod Kumar, in -charge of the team, said that no compromise will be made in corruption cases and strict action will be taken against such accused. He also said that if anyone has a complaint of corruption, he can contact the team without any fear.

    Villagers response

The villagers have appreciated the prevention of corruption team after the matter came to light. Vipin Verma, Principal Representative of Gram Panchayat Chitounia, said that he hoped that action would be taken on his complaint, but the action of the team was beyond his expectation. He said that such action will increase the trust of common people on government schemes and officials.

    Fight against corruption continues

This case once again reminds that the fight against corruption is still long. However, the activism of the prevention of corruption and quick action in such cases has raised a new hope among the common people. It is very important to curb such corrupt officials to spread the benefits of government schemes to the common people.

    Further action

After the case lodged at Fardhan police station, legal action will be taken against the accused Madhur Gupta. The prevention of corruption team has clarified that it is taking the matter seriously and every effort will be made to punish the accused. Apart from this, the team has also said that it is also investigating the possibility of corruption in other government schemes.

This case of Lakhimpur Kheri once again proves that there is a need to take strict steps in the fight against corruption. This action of the prevention of corruption team has not only increased the trust of the common people, but has also sent a message that those who do corruption will not be spared. Now it has to be seen what action is taken in this matter and whether it becomes an example in the ongoing fight against corruption.
