Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Friday visit to Thiruvananthapuram marked a pivotal moment for Kerala, with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan leading a grand reception. Focused on development, the event featured launches and inaugurations aimed at bolstering the state’s infrastructure and economy.

Vijayan’s speech radiated optimism, hailing the occasion as one of ‘great pride and satisfaction.’ He detailed how PM Modi’s initiatives would accelerate Kerala’s growth engine.

Prominent attendees included Governor Arlekar, Mayor Rajesh, George Kurian, M.B. Rajesh, Shashi Tharoor, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, officials, and welfare recipients, reflecting broad stakeholder engagement.

Among the announcements: foundation for CSIR-NIIST’s tech and entrepreneurship center, new Poojappura post office ribbon-cutting, and PM SVANidhi activation for lakh-plus vendors, with immediate loan disbursals.

A major draw was PM Modi green-lighting three Amrit Bharat Expresses and a passenger train, which Vijayan praised as ‘game-changers’ for transport and commerce. He acknowledged long-pending central nods, extending thanks and expressing faith in ongoing collaboration.

‘We trust the Prime Minister to see these through on time,’ Vijayan affirmed, anticipating Centre’s focus on Kerala’s other priorities. The event wrapped with warm welcomes, signaling strengthened partnerships.
