The political temperature in Tamil Nadu soared as Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared the state’s unequivocal support for the NDA, calling for the ouster of the DMK government. From Maduranthakam, Modi took to X to fire up the base ahead of a landmark rally on Friday.

‘Tamil Nadu stands with NDA. I’ll be at the Maduranthakam rally with alliance leaders today. The hour has come to farewell the graft-ridden DMK government. NDA’s proven track record and regional focus are captivating the people,’ read his post.

This sets the stage for a blockbuster public meeting along the Chennai-Tindivanam highway, officially inaugurating NDA’s Assembly election campaign. As the poll date approaches, the state is buzzing with intensified political maneuvers.

BJP Tamil Nadu president Nainar Nagendran revealed PM Modi’s schedule: a prime-time address to launch the NDA’s offensive against the ‘people-hostile’ DMK. He had previewed to the media that January 23 would see the campaign’s genesis in Maduranthakam, targeted at toppling the incumbent regime.

The rally promises an influx of attendees and volunteers from across Tamil Nadu, featuring top brass from AIADMK, BJP, PMK, TMC, and AMMK. It’s the first large-scale mobilization pre-polls, designed to galvanize the workforce.

Observers see this as the spark for a sustained electoral blitz throughout the state. With Modi’s charisma amplifying NDA’s narrative on clean governance and aspirational growth, the alliance is mounting a serious challenge to DMK’s dominance.
