Diplomatic skies soared high in Gandhinagar as PM Narendra Modi and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz engaged in delegation-level parleys at Mahatma Mandir Convention Centre. The talks celebrated 25 years of India-Germany strategic synergy while charting paths for expanded partnerships.

From trade investments to tech innovations, education reforms, skills training, and mobility frameworks, the agenda was comprehensive. Defense-security ties, scientific endeavors, eco-friendly growth, and cultural exchanges emerged as pivotal pillars for future growth.

Preceding the formal session, the leaders dived into Gujarat’s Uttarayan spirit at Sabarmati Riverfront’s kite extravaganza. Traditional welcomes featured Gujarati scarves, lively folk performances, and dances hailing the German guest.

Kite-flying fun saw PM Modi unleash a kite bearing ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,’ embodying India’s worldview of universal kinship. The airspace filled with tricolor kites, godly figures, and personalized leader motifs, amid throngs waving Indo-German flags – a spectacle of shared joy and solidarity.

Conversations with international enthusiasts allowed PM Modi to narrate Uttarayan’s rich heritage to Chancellor Merz. A solemn visit to Sabarmati Ashram followed, paying respects to Mahatma Gandhi via immersive displays, with the Chancellor’s inscribed message.

Merging strategic depth with festive flair, this encounter exemplifies the evolving, multifaceted India-Germany alliance.
