    During his recent two-day visit to India, Russian President Vladimir Putin was presented with a Russian-language edition of the Bhagavad Gita by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This symbolic gift highlights the spiritual and cultural connections that complement the strong political and economic ties between India and Russia. Prime Minister Modi shared his thoughts on X, stating that the Gita’s teachings provide inspiration to people worldwide.

    The Russian President was personally received by Prime Minister Modi at Palam Airport on Thursday, marking the beginning of his official engagements. The leaders shared a warm embrace before proceeding together to the Prime Minister’s residence for a private dinner. Modi welcomed Putin warmly, emphasizing the time-tested nature of the India-Russia friendship and its significant benefits for both countries.

    President Putin’s itinerary for Friday was comprehensive, beginning with a ceremonial welcome at Rashtrapati Bhavan and a visit to the Raj Ghat to honor Mahatma Gandhi. The core of his visit involved bilateral discussions with Prime Minister Modi at Hyderabad House, with a joint press conference planned to announce any agreements. The day also featured a business event to foster economic collaboration and a meeting with President Droupadi Murmu, before his scheduled departure.
