    Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Sunday, expressing his concerns regarding the escalating tensions in the region following US strikes on Iran’s nuclear sites. During the discussion, PM Modi emphasized the importance of immediate dialogue and diplomatic efforts to de-escalate the situation. He shared on X that the conversation involved a detailed discussion of the current situation and highlighted his deep concern about the recent escalations. He reiterated India’s call for immediate de-escalation, dialogue, and diplomacy for the restoration of regional peace, security, and stability.

    On Saturday, Trump announced the US had conducted ‘precise and large-scale’ attacks on Iran and warned of further actions. Iran strongly condemned the attacks, viewing them as violations of international law and reiterated their commitment to their nuclear program. A statement by the AEOI confirmed the attacks on the nuclear sites, calling it a violation of international laws, specifically the NPT, and criticized the IAEA. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised the military actions. The conflict between Israel and Iran reached its ninth day, and the US has started supporting Israel. India is making efforts to evacuate its citizens trapped in Iran, with several flights planned.
