The India-Pakistan match has ignited ongoing debate, with the ‘no-handshake’ incident becoming a prominent point of discussion. After the Indian players chose not to shake hands with the Pakistani team, the PCB voiced its concerns to the ICC, including match referee Andy Pycroft. Former Indian cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin discussed the controversy during a special Asia Cup show on NDTV. He offered a different perspective, stating that there was nothing wrong with shaking hands. Azharuddin felt that when playing, players should fully participate in all aspects of the game, including handshakes. He couldn’t understand the issue and believed it was unnecessary. He further explained that teams should not play if they are protesting. India is set to face Pakistan on Sunday, September 21, at the Dubai International Stadium, during the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup 2025.
