RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat attended an event organized by Vidarbha Sanskar Bharati in Nagpur. The visit was connected to the ongoing centenary celebrations of the RSS. In his address at the Hedgewar Smriti Bhavan, Bhagwat stated that in Indian culture, art goes beyond mere entertainment; it is a tool for the development of character. He spoke about the concept of ‘Satyam Shivam Sundaram,’ which embodies the Hindu artistic philosophy – that which is true, divine, and beautiful. He further explained that art should reflect this ideal, promoting character formation.

He also discussed the link between culture, values, and the role of art in cultivating these values. Vidarbha Sanskar Bharati organized a display of portraits, rangoli, and a booklet at the Hedgewar Smriti Bhavan to pay tribute to 101 deceased Sangh campaigners and workers.

The centenary celebrations will continue for a year. The head of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh mentioned that the RSS’s work has reached its 100th year, and the centenary celebrations will be observed for a year. This will highlight the RSS’s history, how it has grown, the challenges it overcame, and the sacrifices made. There are specific guidelines for the centenary year.

The work related to the centenary will be executed by the RSS volunteers. These volunteers are associated with many organizations, but the organizations will not act independently. The plans for the centenary programs have been finalized, and the RSS volunteers, through the organizations they are connected with, will implement these programs as per the RSS’s framework.

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh will commence its 100-year celebrations from Dussehra this year. Seven major events are scheduled across India from October 2, 2025, to October 20, 2026.

The purpose is to showcase the RSS’s century-long journey, current issues, and solutions to society. The programs will be held at different levels, from local to provincial. In West Bengal, the celebrations began from the first day of Navratri.
