    Jharkhand is preparing for heavy rainfall with a 72-hour alert in place. The IMD has warned of heavy rainfall in Ranchi on July 6th. Districts such as Lohardaga, Saraikela-Kharsawan, and East Singhbhum are also under a heavy rainfall alert. Gumla, Simdega, Khunti, and West Singhbhum are expected to receive very heavy rainfall, triggering an orange alert. The weather forecast indicates that rainfall will persist in various areas of the state until July 10th.

    A yellow alert has been issued for Garhwa, Palamu, Chatra, Latehar, Hazaribagh, Ramgarh, and Bokaro for heavy rainfall expected on July 5th. Ranchi is predicted to have cloudy skies on that day. The IMD has also alerted of heavy rainfall in Simdega, Khunti, East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, and Saraikela-Kharsawan on July 7th, with yellow alerts in effect for these areas.

    Since June 1, 2025, Jharkhand has recorded 395 mm of rainfall, which is 75% above the normal rainfall of 226.3 mm. Ranchi has experienced the highest rainfall in the state, with 651.2 mm, significantly exceeding the normal of 235 mm.
