An orange to red alert has been issued for intense spells of rain over Jammu, Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and north coastal Andhra Pradesh, with the alert active for the next three hours. The current monsoon trough extends through Bikaner, Jaipur, Datia, Banda, Ranchi, Digha, and towards the northeast Bay of Bengal. The existing weather conditions are further influenced by an upper cyclonic circulation over south Haryana, and a Western Disturbance affecting Jammu. The IMD has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall for Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, Odisha, Punjab, and Rajasthan. In addition, heavy rainfall is forecast for Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Chhattisgarh, Coastal Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Mahe, Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Telangana, Uttarakhand, and West Madhya Pradesh. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds are likely in Bihar, Gujarat State, Karnataka, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, and Telangana. Thunderstorms with lightning are also expected in parts of Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, and Sikkim.
