The Delhi-NCR region, despite continuous rainfall over the past two days, continues to experience high humidity. The weather forecast indicates a continuation of rain with thunderstorms expected across Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, and the entire NCR. This rainy spell is anticipated to persist through August 21st. Significant rainfall is also forecast for Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and Uttarakhand. The relentless heavy rains have elevated the risk of landslides in the mountainous areas. Mumbai has also been impacted by significant rainfall since late Friday night, disrupting the normal flow of daily life.

The IMD has issued an Orange Alert for heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand, specifically in Bageshwar, Nainital, and Dehradun. On Sunday, very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall is predicted for these areas. Additionally, heavy rainfall is expected in Chamoli, Uttarkashi, Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag, and Champawat. Thunderstorms and heavy rainfall are also anticipated in other districts of the state. The weather department has advised citizens to be alert and take precautions. A slight reduction in rainfall in Uttarakhand offers some relief to the affected residents.

In Uttar Pradesh, heavy rainfall has persisted for several days. The meteorological department projects heavy rainfall in various districts of western UP from August 16th to 22nd, including Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Agra, Moradabad, and Bareilly. Eastern UP is also slated to receive heavy rainfall, with districts such as Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Jaunpur, Deoria, Azamgarh, Ghazipur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Kushinagar, Ballia, and Mau likely to experience heavy rainfall on August 21st-22nd.

The ongoing monsoon season has caused severe devastation in Uttarakhand. Hundreds of lives have been lost due to heavy rainfall and landslides. Cloudbursts have resulted in multiple fatalities, and the consistent rain has forced numerous people to evacuate their homes. More heavy rainfall is anticipated in the state on August 16th and 17th.

Bihar is experiencing overcast conditions in various locations. The heavy rainfall has resulted in flood-like situations in the lower-lying areas. The weather department anticipates no significant weather changes for the next four days, but heavy rainfall is expected from August 20th to 22nd.

The IMD predicts heavy rainfall in Meghalaya, Assam, Tripura, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Manipur for the next seven days. Arunachal Pradesh is expected to receive very heavy rainfall from August 19th to 21st.
