As the heat intensifies, people are hoping for the monsoon’s arrival. The monsoon’s effects are causing heavy rainfall in the northeastern and southern states. Pre-monsoon showers are also occurring in Delhi and western Himalayan regions. The southwest monsoon has now reached Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, and Odisha.

Over the next 48 hours, the monsoon is expected to advance further into the northern Arabian Sea and areas from Gujarat to Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and eastern Uttar Pradesh. Delhi has been experiencing pre-monsoon showers, with the temperature dropping due to strong winds and rain. A yellow alert is in place for Delhi today, with light rain and thunderstorms expected in the evening or at night. Rain is anticipated in the capital for the next three days.

**Red Alert for the Following States**

The IMD has reported two low-pressure areas: one over the southwest region of Bangladesh, affecting the Gangetic plains of West Bengal, and another in the Gujarat region. These conditions are expected to bring heavy rainfall to the Gangetic plains of West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha in the next two days, leading to a red alert.

    **Weather Outlook**

Moderate to heavy rainfall is expected across various parts of Uttar Pradesh in the next couple of days. Thunderstorms are also likely. Light to moderate rain and thunderstorms are predicted for the western Himalayan region, Haryana, Rajasthan, Vidarbha, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, south interior Karnataka, Andaman-Nicobar Islands, and Lakshadweep. Telangana, Vidarbha, and Marathwada may receive light rainfall.

Very heavy rainfall is likely in southern Gujarat within the next 24 hours. Light to moderate rainfall is expected in Konkan and Goa, coastal Karnataka, Kerala, north Bihar, Chhattisgarh, eastern Madhya Pradesh, and Northeast India.
