Russia’s capital is set to immerse itself in Lunar New Year celebrations once again, with the third installment of the ‘Chinese New Year in Moscow’ international festival from February 16 to March 1.

The Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed the dates on January 22, noting that the Moscow municipality will lead the organization, supported by government and Chinese embassy officials.

Activities will unfold primarily at Manezhnaya Square adjacent to Red Square and en route to Revolution Square. The 2025 festival’s feat—1,500 programs over two weeks captivating 1.5 million people—sets a high bar for performances, markets, and interactive cultural experiences.

Beijing counters with its own event, ‘Moscow Maslenitsa,’ slated for February 19-22, featuring Russian pancake traditions in the Chinese capital.

These twin festivals highlight burgeoning bilateral relations, promoting people-to-people connections through shared joy and heritage. As global tensions persist, such initiatives remind us of cultural bridges’ enduring power.
