Riding safely requires more than just good riding technique; the safety features built into your motorcycle are equally important. Bikes now incorporate advanced technology to enhance safety, moving beyond simple speed and design. Many riders might not know about these features, preventing them from fully leveraging their benefits. This guide breaks down the vital safety features in contemporary motorcycles.

    **Anti-lock Braking System (ABS):**
ABS is a major advancement in motorcycle safety, preventing wheel lock-up during sudden or strong braking. This is especially crucial on slick roads, as it prevents tire slippage. As a result, the rider maintains better control, significantly lowering the risk of accidents. ABS is now included on a wide range of bikes, even those with engines up to 125cc.

    **Combi Braking System (CBS):**
CBS is typically used on lower-powered bikes, often up to 125cc. This system links the front and rear brakes. When the rear brake is applied, the system automatically activates the front brake, distributing the braking force across both tires. This allows the bike to stop faster and reduces the likelihood of skidding.

    **Traction Control System (TCS):**
TCS is usually featured on high-performance and premium bikes. It constantly monitors the speed of the wheels. If the rear wheel spins excessively, increasing the risk of a slide (for instance, on wet or sandy roads), TCS lowers the engine’s power. This allows the tire to maintain grip on the road, preventing the bike from losing control. It also enhances safety during quick acceleration.
