The 13th match of the Women’s Premier League unfolded dramatically at Vadodara, with Mumbai Indians amassing 154 for 5 in 20 overs against Delhi Capitals. Nat Sciver-Brunt’s unbeaten 65 stole the show, giving MI a fighting total of 155 to defend.

After DC captain Jemimah Rodrigues called correctly and elected to field, MI lost both openers cheaply. Sajana Sajeevan made 9 off 9 balls, and Hayley Matthews 12, both dismissed when the score was just 21. The turnaround came via a solid 78-run alliance between Sciver-Brunt and Harmanpreet Kaur for the third wicket.

Kaur departed for a brisk 41 off 33 balls (7×4), pushing the score to 99. Sciver-Brunt, unflappable at the crease, bludgeoned 65* off 45 balls with aggressive strokeplay – six fours and two sixes. Brief cameos from Nicola Carey (12) and Amanjot Kaur (3) ensued, but it was Brunt’s innings that defined the effort.

Delhi’s bowlers fought back led by left-arm spinner An Charaeni (3/33), with Marizanne Kapp exceptional at 1/8, and Nandani Sharma taking 1/36. Playoff aspirations demand a win for both outfits, ensuring the chase will be a test of nerve and skill under pressure.
