Shivam Mishra, Raipur. In Chhattisgarh’s much talked about Civil Supplies Corporation (PDS) scam, ED has made a big allegation against the accused retired IAS in the Supreme Court. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) told the Supreme Court that two IAS officers Anil Tuteja and Alok Shukla accused in the (PDS) scam were in touch with the High Court judge who granted bail to Alok Shukla in October 2019. ED has claimed that the then Advocate General was in touch between the accused IAS and the judge.

According to a media report, the ED report related to August 1 does not mention the name of the judge. But the annexures containing WhatsApp chat details show that he was a judge. The ED has said that he was contacted through his brother and the former Chief Secretary of the state. The ED has claimed that two bureaucrats in the then Bhupesh government were tampering with evidence to weaken the case against them.

The ED has said that the accused were in touch with the judge of Chhattisgarh High Court through the then Advocate General, who had granted anticipatory bail to Shukla on October 16, 2019. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) said that Tuteja was in touch with the judge through AG Satish Chandra Verma, as was evident in the WhatsApp messages of July 31 and August 11, 2019. The exchange of WhatsApp messages revealed that the biodata of the judge’s daughter and son-in-law were sent by the then AG to Tuteja for favourable action, who was maintaining contact between the judge and the two accused.
