Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Cyprus saw a blend of traditional Indian customs and high-level diplomacy. Michaela Kythreoti Mhlapa, a member of the Nicosia Council, welcomed PM Modi by touching his feet, a customary expression of respect. This gesture was acknowledged by the Prime Minister. The visit also featured the awarding of the Grand Cross of the Order of Makarios III, Cyprus’s highest honor, to PM Modi by President Nikos Christodoulides.
