Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai chaired a review meeting at Mahanadi Bhawan, Nava Raipur, concerning the Housing and Environment Department. The Chief Minister reviewed the work of the Nava Raipur Development Authority (NRDA) and gave directions to officials. The meeting included the Minister of Finance and Housing & Environment, Shri O.P. Chaudhary, Chief Secretary Shri Amitabh Jain, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Subodh Kumar Singh, Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Rahul Bhagat, Secretary Housing and Environment Shri Ankit Anand, NRDA CEO Shri Chandan Kumar, Chhattisgarh Housing Board Commissioner Shri Avnish Sharan, Raipur Development Authority CEO Shri Akash Chhikara, and other senior officers.
Chief Minister Sai emphasized that the systematic development of Nava Raipur is a key government priority. He stressed the importance of planned development that considers the future requirements of the region. Nava Raipur is designed to be a modern capital, and it already houses esteemed educational institutions such as IIM, IIIT, and the National Law University. Recognizing the expected population increase and expansion in the area, it is crucial to expand civic amenities. The Chief Minister discussed the expansion of rail connectivity in the Nava Raipur area, providing directives to officials. The new railway line from Parmalkasa to Kharsia, initiated by the Government of India and passing through Balodabazar district, was a key point of discussion. The Chief Minister expressed interest in connecting this line to Nava Raipur, thereby enhancing rail facilities and benefiting the public.
Furthermore, Chief Minister Sai highlighted the need for a logistics hub in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar under the Bharatmala project to connect Visakhapatnam, supporting development, imports, and exports. Officials stated that the construction of the expressway through Chhattisgarh is almost complete, reducing the distance between Raipur and Visakhapatnam by 100 km. The Chief Minister noted that the state’s new industrial policy is attracting numerous investors, fostering job creation. Discussions also encompassed the Oxyzone project, focusing on the planting and growth of various trees. Officials presented plans for a commission bidding complex for state commissions, boards, and corporations, along with proposals for a working women’s hostel, a 100-bed hospital, and a new police station. The Chief Minister directed that the allocated land for new construction in Nava Raipur should be properly utilized.
The Chief Minister also assessed the workings of the Chhattisgarh Environment Conservation Board, Chhattisgarh Housing Board, Town and Country Planning, Chhattisgarh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA), and Raipur Development Authority, offering necessary instructions.
