The political atmosphere in Bihar is intensifying ahead of the upcoming assembly elections. The opposition’s Grand Alliance is currently undertaking a ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra,’ alleging that there has been ‘vote theft.’ In response to this, the NDA is gearing up to aggressively campaign. The NDA plans to launch its election campaign on August 23, following a rally by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Gaya on August 22.

To execute its campaign strategy, the NDA has established 14 teams, each consisting of seven leaders. These teams will comprise leaders from all the NDA’s constituent parties. The initial focus will be on covering 84 constituencies across the first two phases of the campaign.

The election campaign will run from August 23 to August 30, with teams visiting 6 assembly constituencies over a 6-day period. These teams will be comprised of central ministers, MPs, state ministers, and senior leaders from the BJP, JDU, LJP, HAM-S, and RLM.

The first team will be led by JDU’s working president Sanjay Jha. The team will also feature Union ministers like Giriraj Singh, Jitan Ram Manjhi, Nityanand Rai, Satish Chandra Dubey and Ramnath Thakur. In addition, Bihar’s deputy chief ministers Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, along with the state presidents and other leaders from the NDA parties will also be part of the campaign.

The aim is to ensure proper coordination, and to do so, leaders will hold a joint meeting with NDA workers at the assembly level. Joint press conferences will also be conducted to highlight the work and accomplishments of the NDA government.

This move is strategic, as the BJP is planning to activate at the assembly level through the workers’ conference. The conference will be launched on August 23, after the PM’s rally in Gaya on August 22. This strategy is to counter the opposition’s ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ which has been critical of the current government. The NDA aims to respond to the opposition’s attacks and rally the party workers at the grassroots level.
