A new Amrit Bharat train is set to commence operations soon, connecting Chhapra and Anand Vihar via Gorakhpur. The Northeast Railway administration is actively engaged in the preparations for this service. The new train will replace existing special train services on this route, aiming to improve passenger convenience.

The new train will operate twice a week, linking Chhapra and Anand Vihar. The Amrit Bharat train’s rolling stock has already arrived in Chhapra. The launch of the train may be marked by an inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 15. This service will provide a convenient option for passengers traveling from Gorakhpur to Delhi. It will also significantly benefit the residents of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh and improve the connectivity between these states and Delhi.

    **Proposed Schedule:**

The proposed route and schedule for the new Chhapra-Anand Vihar Amrit Bharat service are in their final stages, but official confirmation is still pending. The plan indicates that the Amrit Bharat train will depart from Chhapra on Mondays and Thursdays at 10 PM. It will reach Gorakhpur at 3:15 AM the following day, with stops at Siwan, Thawe, and Kaptanganj.

From Gorakhpur, the train will depart at 3:25 AM, traveling through Aishbagh and Kanpur, and reach Anand Vihar at 10:10 PM. On its return journey, the train will depart from Anand Vihar on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 12:20 AM. It will reach Gorakhpur at 4:50 PM the next day, passing through Kanpur and Aishbagh. It will arrive at Chhapra at 10:50 PM, via Kaptanganj and Thawe.

    **Existing Train Services:**

Currently, there are already four Amrit Bharat trains operating for Bihar via Gorakhpur. The 14048/14047 Amrit Bharat train will run between Delhi and Sitamarhi once a week from August 9, the Gomtinagar-Darbhanga weekly Amrit Bharat (5561/15562) has been running since July 26, and the Bapudham Motihari-Anand Vihar Terminal Amrit Bharat Weekly Express (15567/15568) has been in service since July 29.

Additionally, the 15557/15558 Amrit Bharat train operates between Anand Vihar and Darbhanga, with stops at Ayodhya and Gorakhpur. The introduction of the new Amrit Bharat train from Chhapra will make travel easier for people from Chhapra, Siwan, Thawe, and the neighboring regions of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
