A ‘Chitrotpala Film City’ is set to be built by a private entity in Nava Raipur’s Mana-Tuta area, spanning around 70 acres. The project, approved by a committee chaired by the Chief Secretary, will follow a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. The Chhattisgarh Tourism Board is actively preparing for the project, with tenders anticipated to be released within a month after finalizing the terms. The estimated budget for the film city is approximately 95 crore rupees, and construction is slated to commence in the coming months.

Under the PPP model, private investors will receive land for constructing studios and infrastructure. The film city will also feature e-bus services. It is expected to attract around 400 crore rupees in investment, generating employment for numerous local artists and young people. The government intends to promote collaboration with private investors, producers, and artists linked to the film industry.

The central government has approved 147 crore rupees for film city construction and tourism development in Chhattisgarh, following a state government proposal. The film city is expected to boost Chhattisgarhi films, theatre, and tourism. Under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment 2024-25, the construction of the Chitrotpala Film City in Mana-Tuta, Raipur, is proposed at a cost of 95.79 crore rupees, alongside a Tribal and Cultural Convention Center costing 51.87 crore rupees.
