New Forensic University and i-Hub to Boost Chhattisgarh’s Development, Says Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the temporary campus of the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) and the i-hub in Nava Raipur. He emphasized the importance of these institutions for modernizing the criminal justice system in Chhattisgarh. The establishment includes a permanent NFSU campus and a central forensic science lab, with a total investment of ₹268 crore. The temporary campus will offer courses in forensic science, cyber security, psychology, and digital forensics starting in the 2025-26 academic year. Shah stated that these initiatives would strengthen modern justice and crime investigation in Chhattisgarh and central India. New forensic technologies will become readily available, leading to faster and more accurate investigations. The i-hub is designed to support Chhattisgarh’s youth in starting businesses, providing technical assistance, and facilitating access to funding and professional services. Shah encouraged young people to become entrepreneurs. The Union Home Minister praised the new government, highlighting that MoUs for investment proposals worth ₹5 lakh crore have been signed. He applauded Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Home Minister Vijay Sharma for their work in combating Naxalism, noting the increased activity of security forces. He urged Naxals to surrender and join the state’s development efforts. Shah also stated that the permanent NFSU campus will be completed in three years, offering career opportunities. He also discussed the implementation of the new criminal laws, which aim to provide justice based on scientific evidence. Forensic investigations are now mandatory for crimes with sentences exceeding seven years. Shah highlighted that NFSU campuses are being established across the country, and that India is expected to see rapid growth in the forensic technology market.
