Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded Chhattisgarh’s burgeoning confidence and significant developmental strides during his visit to Nava Raipur for the state’s 25th anniversary celebrations. He inaugurated an array of development projects and laid foundations for future initiatives totaling over Rs 14,260 crore, aiming to propel the state’s growth in sectors like roads, industry, healthcare, and energy.

In his address, PM Modi chronicled Chhattisgarh’s impressive transformation since its inception. He highlighted the government’s commitment to enhancing citizens’ quality of life, evidenced by the comprehensive rural electrification and internet connectivity now available across the state. The Prime Minister also praised the Ujjwala scheme for its reach into poor, Dalit, and tribal households, and mentioned ongoing efforts to provide piped gas connections to villages.

The enhancement of rural infrastructure was a key theme, with PM Modi noting that Chhattisgarh’s road network has expanded to 40,000 km, a remarkable increase that connects even the most far-flung villages.

On the housing front, 3.51 lakh new homes were inaugurated during a ‘Griha Pravesh’ ceremony. Moreover, Rs 1,200 crore was allocated to 3 lakh beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin), reflecting a strong focus on providing adequate housing for rural populations.

The Prime Minister also honored Chhattisgarh’s rich history by unveiling a statue of Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh and inaugurating a memorial museum dedicated to tribal freedom fighters. The inauguration of the new Vidhansabha building, designed with green principles, solar power, and rainwater harvesting, symbolizes the state’s commitment to a sustainable and progressive future.
