Hyundai Creta has been a dominant force in the mid-size SUV segment since 2015. However, the arrival of Maruti Suzuki’s Victoris and Tata Motors’ Sierra is set to change the game. While the Victoris is expected to launch before Diwali, the Sierra, featuring an electric powertrain, will be available around October or November 2025.

Potential buyers can book the Maruti Suzuki Victoris SUV, which comes in six trims (LXI, VXI, ZXI, ZXI (O), ZXI+, and ZXI+ (O)) through Arena dealerships, for a booking amount of just 11,000 rupees.

The Victoris boasts several firsts for Maruti Suzuki, including Level 2 ADAS, a Dolby Atmos audio system, and an underbody CNG tank. It will offer three engine options: a 103 bhp, 1.5-liter mild hybrid petrol, a 116 bhp, 1.5-liter strong hybrid, and an 89 bhp, 1.5-liter petrol CNG.

The Tata Sierra EV is gearing up for its comeback to the Indian market within the next 2-3 months. This SUV will showcase Tata’s latest design language, a technologically advanced interior, and multiple powertrain configurations. The Sierra will initially be offered as an all-electric model, with an ICE variant slated for launch in early 2026. The electric version could potentially borrow its powertrain from the Harrier EV, featuring two battery pack options and a QWD system.

The ICE-powered Tata Sierra is expected to include a new 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 2.0L diesel engine. A turbocharged 1.5L petrol engine is also planned for the future. Key features anticipated include a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, ventilated and powered front seats, a built-in dashcam, Level-2 ADAS, and other advanced technology.
