The Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 witnessed another masterclass from India’s Smriti Mandhana, who scored a sensational century against New Zealand. Her brilliant innings of 109 runs off 95 balls not only put India in a commanding position but also saw her break and equal several significant records in women’s international cricket.

This magnificent century, Mandhana’s 14th in ODI cricket, means she has now overtaken New Zealand’s Suzie Bates (13 ODI centuries) to claim the second spot on the all-time list for most centuries in women’s ODIs. She is now just two shy of Australia’s Meg Lanning, who holds the record with 15 centuries. Mandhana’s consistent scoring highlights her technical prowess and aggressive intent, proving a handful for the New Zealand bowlers.

Furthermore, Mandhana has now equaled her captain Harmanpreet Kaur’s record for the most centuries by an Indian woman in the Women’s World Cup, with both players having registered three centuries each. This achievement solidifies her place among India’s most impactful World Cup performers.

Mandhana’s dominance extends to 2025, where she currently leads all women cricketers in sixes hit, with a staggering 29. Her ability to play both elegant and powerful shots has made her a formidable force and a fan favorite, marking this as one of her most prolific periods.
