Singrauli: A 3-year-old innocent girl fell into an old closed borewell in Singrauli. The incident happened on 29th July at around 4:30 pm. The rescue team took out the 3-year-old girl who fell into the borewell. The girl was taken to the district hospital in a state of severe unconsciousness, where the doctors declared her dead.

IG Rewa Mahendra Singh Sikarwar said that during the rescue operation being carried out in Singrauli district, the girl was found unconscious at a depth of about 22 feet. She was taken to the district hospital where the doctor declared her dead.

Collector Chandrashekhar Shukla, Superintendent of Police Mrs. Nivedita Gupta, NCL CMD B Sainath and other officials were engaged in rescue operations. The girl was trapped in an 18-20 feet deep pit.

Borewell collapsed in the field

According to the information, Pintu Shah has a farm in Kasar village of Janpad Panchayat Chitrangi. There is an 8 to 10 year old borewell in the farm, which the farmer had already stopped using. On 25 and 26 July, due to rain, the soil caved in and a pit was formed. Soumya Shah fell into the same pit at around 4:30 pm.

Excavation done up to 15 feet

SP Nivedita Gupta said that the eight-year-old borewell had been filled up. Due to rain, the soil had caved in and the girl slipped and fell into it. Excavation was done using a JCB.
