52 students of Kasturba Kanya Ashram in Barwani fell ill due to vomiting and diarrhea, two were referred to district hospital

Naiduniya Representative, Barwani: About 50 students of Kasturba Kanya Ashram in Niwali town fell ill due to vomiting and diarrhea. On receiving complaints of vomiting and diarrhea, the girls were brought to the Community Health Center around 3 pm. Two other students have been referred to Barwani District Hospital as their condition worsened in the morning.

The health of two girl students deteriorated in the morning

Dr. Suresh Mehta of the Community Health Center said that 52 students of Kasturba Kanya Ashram were brought to the hospital after complaining of vomiting and diarrhea. In the morning, two students were brought to the hospital after vomiting and diarrhea. After providing first aid, Pooja and Anuradha were referred to the District Hospital Barwani.

The doctor said that in the afternoon 50 students were brought to the hospital due to vomiting and diarrhea. Out of which 10 students were treated by giving saline and 40 students were given ORS solution and injections and medicines.

On receiving the news of ill health of students in the ashram, Naib Tehsildar Archana Girwal immediately went to the ashram and school. She talked to the students and enquired about their health. The students whose health was poor were sent to the hospital.

For breakfast, the students were given sabudana kheer, dal, rice and roti. Other students were given capsicum vegetable and roti.

RO and water cooler are not installed in the ashram

Nagar Parishad CMO Roop Singh Solanki has taken water samples from Kasturba Ashram and sent them for testing. Earlier also, students had fallen ill due to vomiting and diarrhea in the ashram. Drinking water is provided through taps in the ashram. There is no RO or water cooler for drinking water whereas RO has been provided for drinking water in all government hostels.
