Demand for BSc-B.Ed in Jabalpur, seats are vacant but still admission is not being given

Colleges sought permission for CLC round to fill the seats.

Naiduniya, Jabalpur (Jabalpur News). The demand for courses like B.Ed and B.Sc has increased rapidly. Students are taking admission in these courses to become teachers. This is the reason that despite more applications than the fixed seats, the seats in the colleges could not be filled.

Now the Higher Education Department has stopped the admission process but seats in colleges are still vacant. Students also want to take admission. In such a situation, colleges have raised the demand to start additional college level counseling. Colleges have also written a letter to the Higher Education Department.

Five to ten percent seats are vacant in every college

This year more than 80 thousand students had registered for B.Ed. Due to the seats being allotted on the basis of merit every time, most of the students were deprived of admission in their preferred college. Many had filled the last option of outside colleges and got seats there due to which the students showed disinterest in taking admission.

322 seats are vacant in 25 B.Ed colleges of the state

Some students got colleges of their choice but they had chosen many option courses at one time due to which students left the seat. Many such cases came to light due to which the seat remained vacant. In the B.Sc. B.Ed. course, 322 seats are vacant in 25 B.Ed. colleges of the state.

More than 1200 seats are vacant across the state

Two colleges of Jabalpur are included in this where seats are vacant. Apart from this, more than 1200 seats of B.Ed are vacant across the state. These seats will remain vacant for the whole year while students want to take admission but as per the policy of the department these seats are not getting filled.

Colleges demand CLC round

Manoj Yadav of NES Education College said that the Higher Education Department should provide the option of college level counselling. The B.Ed admission process ended on 31 August. The students who are registered should be given the facility of direct admission in college after getting their documents verified. Interested students will be able to get the college of their choice. Vijayshree Education Society has also written a letter demanding CLC round to fill the vacant seats of B.Sc. B.Ed. course.

Five rounds, Rs 600 spent only on the procedure

College operators said that in this admission process through MP Online, students have to pay a hefty amount. A fee of Rs. 250 is charged for registration and after that a fee of Rs. 50 is payable for choice filling at every stage.

MP Online Kiosk operators charge a fee of Rs 50 for each process. In such a situation, the student has to pay the fee for every stage in which he gives options. This time in B.Ed, there were two additional stages after three stages in which the student had to spend Rs 600-700. Many students could not get admission in college even after paying the fee.

Merit process is followed for admission in B.Ed. related courses. Seats are vacant in many colleges but we try to fill them as per the prescribed merit process. Right now the process has been closed, we will think further about what can be done.
