In Katni, on seeing the municipal corporation team, the woman poured petrol on herself, everyone backed away in fear

After removing the encroachment from the land of Jagannath Swami temple located near Chandak Chowk of Kotwali police station of Katni, on seeing the municipal corporation team arriving to pick up the goods on Saturday, a woman poured petrol on herself. Also, she started threatening to set herself on fire.

After this the municipal corporation staff backed off. The woman and her husband said that action is being taken even though the matter is pending in the court. According to the information, the work of kitchen construction is going on in the temple and Roshan Vishwakarma’s shop and house was built in it.

She threatened to burn herself

The orders to remove it were given by the SDM and the Tehsil Court and on Thursday, the action to remove the shop was taken in the presence of the Tehsildar. On Saturday afternoon, the Municipal Corporation staff arrived to remove the material from the spot. Then Roshan’s wife Parvati Vishwakarma protested and sprinkled petrol on herself and started threatening to set herself on fire.

Due to this, the corporation staff stopped the work. The woman and her husband alleged that the matter was pending in the court. They had received a notice from the Tehsildar to vacate the premises by 29th August but the shop was demolished in the afternoon without their presence.

He alleged that now a notice has been given to demolish his house as well. On the other hand, the temple committee officials said that the action to remove encroachment from the temple land has been taken only on the orders of the court.
